Dr Céline (Liny) Christiansen-Jucht

Technical Advisor for Malaria Elimination

Dr Céline Christiansen-Jucht has worked in the malaria world since 2016. Having first worked in Moçambique, Nigeria, Chad, and Burkina Faso, she then moved to Southeast Asia in 2019 to join the World Health Organization as a field epidemiologist in Cambodia to support the country's targeting of the malaria burden in high-risk areas. Thereafter she worked with WHO Cambodia as a project specialist, supporting the implementation of acceleration strategies as part of the last mile to malaria elimination

Prior to joining APLMA, Dr Christiansen-Jucht worked as the WHO epidemiologist for the Greater Mekong Subregion since 2022. Her efforts included supporting Myanmar in the drafting of an Intensification Plan for malaria control in high burden or emergency areas, and of Acceleration Strategies for the elimination and prevention of re-establishment of malaria in low transmission areas. She also supported Viet Nam in drawing up protocols for implementing various strategies to address the country’s heterogeneous malaria burden.

Dr Christiansen-Jucht holds a BSc in Biochemistry, a MSc in Epidemiology, and a PhD in mathematical modelling of Infectious Diseases specializing in malaria, all from Imperial College London.
